Good morning! Last full week of school!
This week's assignment is going to go in a completely different direction. For this week, I'd like for you to create a list of guidelines regarding the safety precautions that should be in place when we begin to welcome audiences back. I want you to look at State and CDC guidance for live performances. I also want you to research any guidelines provided by other production authorities, such as IATSE, Actor's Equity, ESTA, The Event Safety Alliance, etc. Your guidelines should not be written as an essay, but more like a list of bulleted action items. If there is a process with steps that you'd like to include, or phases, please number them in order. Any narratives or explanations should be short and to the point. Finally, this and all other assignments are due to me for grading by next Monday, May 18th, no later than 3pm. I will accept ANY assignment given during distance learning. Have a great week, hope to see you in a Zoom at some point! -Mr. Parker

For this week's assignment, I want you to start by reading the section on page 171 that talks about Thumbnail Sketches. To the right of that are some examples sketches. Once you've read that section, I want you to create thumbnails for each of your locations in your show (children's book).
If you take a look at your scenic breakdown, you'll find that though there are multiple scenes, many of them will take place in the same location. Only create a thumbnail sketch for each location. If you have more than 5 locations, pick the best 5 and create thumbnail sketches for those. Here's a link that will help you out: http://www.explore-drawing-and-painting.com/thumbnail-sketch.html Scan or photograph your sketches and present them all in a PowerPoint slide show. |
